SUMMER SESSIONS

Dive Deep this summer

Summer is here along with the challenge to dive deep into spiritual growth! Along with an investment in your relationship with God, you will have the opportunity to get to know others better and mingle with other generations.

Session 2 will be July 26 - August 30. Again, the session offers four unique classes for you to choose.  Descriptions for Session 2 classes are found below. All classes will be on Sunday mornings at 9:00AM at the church.

  • Bible Study Methods: How to study the bible for all its worth Part 2

Led by Nate Adams, this session will teach several different methods of studying the Bible for yourself, both simple and more in-depth. These include Devotional, Chapter Summary, Thematic, Word Study, and Character Quality methods, based on Rick Warren’s book Personal Bible Study Methods - 12 Ways to Study the Bible on Your Own. In addition to learning the methods, participants will have an opportunity to sample them in class each week, and then to try them out and compare notes the following week. The goal is to learn how to find meaningful, personal application from the Bible through your own reading and study.

  • Ask of Me: What God wants to Hear from us

Expand your prayer list with a God’s-eye view. Six psalms will show us how to talk with God about things that matter to Him, and to us. Following the examples of David and other psalm writers, we will learn to pour out our prayer before God—and still keep our wandering minds on track. Each session will be half study and half personal prayer time. This can be a drop-in class for guests or returning vacationers.

    Led by Eric Reed

  • the 5 Love Languages

Words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, acts of service, physical touching - learning these love languages will get your marriage off to a great start or enhance a long-standing one! Mark Emerson will lead this session and explain the purpose of each "language" and shows you how to identify the one that's meaningful to your spouse now.

  • The Art of Neighboring

You have hundreds of Facebook friends, but do you know the full name of your next-door neighbor? This class seeks to help you make lasting personal connections by asking---and acting on---one question: What's the most loving thing I can do for my neighbors? Led by Josh Parsons, we will cover how to:

    ● create genuine friendships with the people who live in closest proximity to you
    ● overcome the barriers that keep you from getting to know your neighbors
    ● make small steps and give from what you have to make a difference
    ● commit to good neighboring as a lifestyle
